I dare you to try to resist the urge to squeeze those cheeks. I double dare you.
Ahoy, mateys! Jack had his first boat ride this weekend. It was a modest success. He only screamed briefly when cousin Dylann sounded the horn and scared the pants off him. And he didn’t love the life jacket. Other than that, success!

Dear Santa:
This was my favorite part of gym class in elementary school. If I got a pair of them, John and I could have races. Just sayin’.

We’ve hit the 35 day mark until my due date. Brent... - Dear Baby -
I thought I’d share this blog post written by Melissa who is also expecting her first baby…
With only three days until the start of our third trimester (what!?!), I have been feeling like I might miss being pregnant after Baby Uncle Marvin is born. It sounds funny when I reread that, but it’s true. I love being able to feel him wiggle and squirm. And I always know where he is (fists on my bladder, feet in my left lung) and that feels safe. And we have a special little relationship that is loving and amazing and ours.
I know that when he arrives, I will be so excited to love him and cuddle him and share him with the world. But it also feels weird to think about not being pregnant. Guess that means we’ll have to do this again at some point, huh?
We have the crib, the dresser, the rug, the print and the monkey. Still working on the glider/recliner, but I really love the one in the photo. And the fabric should be here in mid-January, so mom and I can start sewing. Yay!
According to thebump.com, Baby Uncle Marvin is about the size of an eggplant this month. I really hope he’s not purple with green hair. But I would love him anyway.
Ms. Patti and I are going to tackle some sewing for the nursery. I am loving grey + yellow right now. I’m sure in twenty years we’ll look back on photos and say, “Oh, that was so 2010. What were we thinking?”
Everything grows rounder and wider and weirder, and I sit here in the middle of it all and wonder who in the world you will turn out to be. — Carrie Fisher
